OFFICERS & ADVISORS:
Daniel J. Monticello, PhD. President and Director. Dr. Monticello has over 20 years of experience in various aspects of biotechnology. He was a co-founder and served 35 a member of the Board of Directors, CSO and Vice President of R&D of Energy BioSystems (later Enchira Biotechnology Corporation) from 1990 until 2002. Prior to ENBC, he held senior positions in project management, business development, process development, research management and basic and applied research with Miles, Inc., a part of the Bayer Corporation. He is inventor or co-inventor on 19 issued US patents. He received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Michigan State University.
Caroline Popper, MD. Director. President and co-founder of Popper and Company. 15 years of hands-on biotech life sciences operating experience. An internist and pathologist, she combines this perspective with that gained from managing a wide spectrum of life sciences businesses in diagnostics, devices and drug discovery. Dr. Popper received her MD from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) and her MPH from Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore). She completed her residencies in Internal Medicine and in Pathology at Johns Hopkins.
Shane Climie, PhD. Scientific and Business Consultant. Dr. Climie has 20 years of R&D and business development experience in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industry. He has led research teams involved in all aspects of drug discovery and has designed, negotiated and managed many R&D collaborations. He has extensive experience in technology evaluation, technology development and strategic planning. He was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California at San Francisco, and received a Ph.D. in medical biophysics from the University of Toronto and a B.Sc. in biology from the University of Waterloo.
